Ravenna school board approves new teachers’ contract, property sale and several staffing moves

The Ravenna School District Board of Education approved a series of major actions at its May meeting, including a new teachers’ contract, the sale of Tappan Elementary School, continued school‑resource officer agreements with the city and multiple personnel hires.

Superintendent said the board should consider 13a1 — the REA bargaining agreement — which was presented as a three‑year contract. "If you'll look at 13a1, this is the approval of the REA union contract that we just completed and was ratified by the Independent Education Association, effective 09/01/2026 through 08/31/2029," the Superintendent said, noting the ratification and effective dates. The board also approved resolution 13a2 to sell Tappan Elementary School to Education Alternatives.
