Treasurer reports higher December revenue, elevated expenditures and ARPA progress

"I give each one of you a breakdown of our financial report," the presenter said, and reported that December revenue was about 25% higher than the same month the previous year while expenditures were about 68% higher, driven by a road construction materials payment. Year-to-date, revenues and expenditures differed by roughly 1.12 percent.
The presenter said the report included breakout tables for the general fund, road fund and jail, and noted that county staff have completed federal and state tax reporting and that W-2s, 1095s and 1099s were being finalized for employees and vendors. The presenter also said the county has had 14 ARPA projects since the program began and now has four remaining open projects.
The court was reminded that a budget workshop is scheduled for Feb. 19. Commissioner Daniel Carmichael reviewed bills for January and the court approved the treasurer's report and bills by voice vote.
