Decatur Fire reports high response‑time compliance for late 2025 and early 2026

At the April ARB meeting, Lieutenant Willis of the Decatur Fire Department reported that the department met its 9‑minute response standard for most urgent call types in late 2025 and the first months of 2026. Willis said the department recorded 874 city Echo/Delta/Bravo calls in October–December 2025 not canceled prior to arrival, with 853 (about 98%) within the 9‑minute target; October alone showed 286 calls with 99% meeting the standard.
Willis reported similarly strong performance for the police jurisdiction (PJ): eight PJ calls in October, 11 in November and 14 in December — 33 PJ calls in the quarter — and he said all (100%) met the PJ response standard of 13 minutes. For January 2026 Willis reported 299 city Echo/Delta/Bravo calls with 283 within 9 minutes (about 96%); the PJ saw 12 such calls with 11 meeting the 13‑minute standard (92%). February figures were similar: 281 city calls with 269 meeting the 9‑minute target (96%) and 16 PJ calls all within 13 minutes. For March 2026 the department reported 279 city Echo/Delta/Bravo calls with 268 within 9 minutes (96%), and 11 PJ calls all within 13 minutes (100%).
The Chair asked for questions after Willis’s presentation; none were raised and Willis closed the report. The meeting record shows the figures as reported by Willis; the ARB did not request additional breakdowns during the session.
