The Middletown School Committee received an update April 16 from the school building committee that the middle/high school construction project is progressing on schedule and within budget.
A building committee representative said exterior tarps will come down in the coming weeks and masonry and interior mechanical framing is underway. The representative added that Gilbane, the contractor, will soon offer educational programming for students, including possible tours, and that work at Valley Elementary will be conducted during school breaks to prepare the building for elementary use when vacated.
"The middle high school project is on time and on budget," the representative said, and committee members encouraged the public to view current drone footage and a monthly photo carousel posted on the project website.
Officials also noted ongoing coordination with the town and the owner’s project manager (OPM) to maximize available funding and to proceed with several related site projects over the next phases.
