Beach Haven land use board elects Miss Lenhard as chair; James Stevens named vice chair

The Beach Haven Joint Land Use Board reorganized at its Jan. 6, 2025 meeting, electing Miss Lenhard as chair and James Stevens as vice chair and adopting its annual reorganization resolutions.
The board opened nominations for chair and Miss Lenhard was nominated, seconded and confirmed by roll call. Members then nominated and confirmed James Stevens for vice chair. The board then moved to adopt its standard reorganization resolutions (R2025 d01 through d07) with a calendar amendment: the September meeting date was changed from Monday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day) to Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The roll call to adopt the reorganization resolutions produced unanimous affirmative votes from the participating members and the resolutions were approved. The board emphasized that it is a quasi‑judicial body and reminded attendees that testimony and public comments must be limited to matters the board can legally consider.
The reorganizational votes set leadership and meeting dates for 2025; the board also confirmed administrative housekeeping items that will govern its hearings and application timelines for the year.
The board proceeded to other agenda items after the reorganization votes, including consideration of an Island B Baptist Church resolution and routine bill approvals.
