The Village of Cross Plains Board of Trustees on April 13 approved a WEDC Vibrant Spaces grant contract to fund west-side improvements at the new village hall site and then took personnel action after a closed session.
Staff said WEDC would provide $338,800 for improvements that include a kiosk, path, pavilion and other amenities; the grant requires a local match of $8,450. The contract was reviewed by the village attorney and by WEDC management and returned as a final draft for board approval. A trustee moved to approve the contract, the board voted by voice and staff was authorized to sign the contract so the project can proceed.
Later in the meeting trustees voted in favor of convening a closed session (roll-call recorded in the transcript). After the closed session the board returned, made and passed a motion to extend an offer/appointment related to the park and recreation director position and thanked the hiring committee for its work; trustees then adjourned the meeting.
The transcript does not record the candidate's name, salary details or the specific employment terms that were approved; the board recorded only that the hiring committee's recommendation was accepted and an offer was authorized.
