The county presented the city of Lambertville with a $40,000 municipal infrastructure grant to purchase a video camera system and related equipment, county and city officials said.
County Commissioner Director Co and Deputy Director Solway attended the meeting to hand over the check and described the award as part of a countywide infrastructure grant program. Commissioner Director Co said the county expects the equipment to help towns assess aging and newer infrastructure and encouraged shared-service arrangements among municipalities.
Council President Lambert thanked the county and described plans to use the cameras to inspect the city’s infrastructure and prioritize repairs. Lambert said staff will review the equipment and coordinate a demonstration when the vendor delivers the system. Deputy Director Solway said the county was pleased to fund projects meant to reduce future flood and infrastructure risks, referencing recent flooding-related displacement in the region.
City officials said they are preparing cooperative agreements to allow neighboring municipalities to borrow the equipment when needed. No formal vote was required for the presentation; city staff indicated they will follow procurement rules and post related information when available.
The presentation concluded with a group photo; staff said they would notify the public when demonstration dates are scheduled.
