Committee: one minor recordable injury, schedule holding and NEVI grant added to middle–high school budget

The committee reviewed approval thresholds described in the meeting: change orders under $25,000 may be executed by Sean alone, under $100,000 by a combination of Shawn and Billy, and anything over $100,000 will be brought to the building committee for recommendation to the school committee and town council.
On finance, the meeting package shows the combined budget for the three schools at just over $200 million; the project has spent about $40.3 million to date and has contracted just under $171 million. The chair said the transcript shows an additional $249,751 was allocated to the middle–high school from a National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grant; the committee speaker used inconsistent phrasing, calling it both "just under $250,000" and "just over $250,000." The Office of Energy Resources requested staff refrain from issuing press releases about the grant for now.
Why it matters: the construction schedule, pending change orders and grant allocations affect cash flow, procurement and timing for finish work and installations. The committee will review PCOs and any owner change orders per the approval thresholds described at the meeting.
Next steps: Gil Bane will submit PCOs for review; the design team and Colliers will review packages before approvals by Sean and Billy for amounts under committee thresholds. Committee members asked staff to continue updating members via weekly reports and to return with clarified figures for pending costs and the NEVI grant amount.
