Board approves personnel resolutions, new director hire and labor agreement updates

The board then welcomed Pauline Zdanowicz, introduced from the audience, as the district’s new director of Pre‑K–5 mathematics and science; her prior roles include assistant principal in the district and professional-growth coordinator at Yorkville Unit School District 115.
Administration presented three resolutions (No. 2623–2625) authorizing dismissal of educational support personnel for reasons other than reduction in force, non‑reemployment of part‑time/temporary support staff, and honorable dismissal. Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved on roll call.
The board also approved a negotiated memorandum of understanding with AFSCME Local 3057 to add dispatchers into the transportation bargaining unit; the MOU aligns dispatcher salaries with bus drivers (schedule B), reduces dispatcher sick days from 18 to 12 (to match bus drivers) and includes standard retroactive raises where applicable. AFSCME representatives thanked the board for approving the inclusion.
Separately, administration presented updates to two job descriptions (Infrastructure and Security Operations Manager; Safety and Security Supervisor). Administration clarified the changes do not increase total FTE and that one updated role reduces FTE, yielding cost savings.
A motion on the consolidated action report recorded one 'No' vote from Vice President Campbell; other roll calls recorded in the transcript show majority approval for the personnel and labor items.
