Jamie Beck, chair, and staff discussed the Governor’s conference competition—about 125 submissions for 40 slots—and agreed MPHA offered additional presentation formats that better suit a multi‑sector panel. McKenzie David, research and evaluation coordinator for the Opioid Settlement Support Center, and others recommended framing the submission as a panel so each partner (county, MOSS Center, advocacy groups) can present.
A committee member moved to apply to the MPHA conference and the motion was seconded; the chair called the question and members voted in favor. Members discussed logistics: using the opioid summit materials as a template, changing the title to align with MPHA’s theme (“Nourish to Flourish”), and assembling a panel that highlights county implementation, data from the MOSS Center and advocacy perspectives.
