Greer
City Council on March 24 approved a procurement recommendation to award a sealed-bid contract for roof replacement at the detention center to IES Coating Inc.
Procurement and grant supervisor Kim McCarow told council that three bids were received for the project; one bidder was declared nonresponsive and staff recommended award to IES Coating Inc. during the discussion. Council asked whether any bidder was minority-owned; McCarow said the department had not explicitly requested minority certification for this project and that she would need to check the bidders' certification status.
Council moved, seconded and approved receipt of the procurement for discussion and then recorded roll-call approval to proceed with the award.
