District staff presented a new, districtwide classified evaluation framework at the April 14 meeting designed to align evaluation language across leaders, teachers and classified employees.
Dr. Benjamin and administrative staff said the committee included classified employees from 11 schools and several departments who helped design a six‑domain rubric that pairs district Litchfield learner traits with job‑specific content for positions such as facilities technicians, nurses, and office managers. The framework separates general domains (communication, teamwork, character) from a domain six built to reflect job‑specific content, and the committee recommended that domain‑six evaluations involve a content expert when appropriate.
Board members praised the inclusive process and the train‑the‑trainer plan for rollout. Miss Moran described the tool as a systems improvement that will raise the quality and consistency of feedback for classified employees. Administration said it will return the tool to the board for a vote at the April 28 meeting after finalizing evidence examples and training materials.
Next steps: staff will finalize artifacts and training, then bring the evaluation tool to the board for formal approval.
