The River Falls Common Council presented a formal proclamation at its April 14 meeting commending the University of Wisconsin–River Falls women’s hockey team for winning the 2026 NCAA Division III national championship and noting the program’s third consecutive national title.
The proclamation, read at the start of the meeting, congratulated the team for a 4–0 championship victory over Nazareth University at Hunt Arena and listed players, co-captains and coaches by name. The council commended student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff and wished them continued success.
Mayor Dan Toland and attendees applauded the team and recognized coaches and staff members named in the proclamation. The ceremony was ceremonial in nature and did not involve council action beyond the presentation of the proclamation.
