The Hayden City Council on April 14 approved an engineering services agreement with Iteris, Inc. for a transportation strategic plan update at a fee not to exceed $46,075.
Staff said the 2026 work is a targeted update to the 2040 transportation plan (adopted in 2021) using the county’s current growth forecasts. Councilmembers asked whether the plan would account for possible state housing legislation that could change density and growth assumptions; staff responded that the current contract uses existing county forecasts and that any development with higher density than current zoning allows would require applicants to provide studies proving infrastructure capacity and mitigations.
Councilmember Ed moved to approve the Iteris agreement; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call. Staff said this update bridges the city until a more comprehensive update can be completed in the next couple of years and will support impact‑fee and long‑range planning tasks.
