Hardin County water districts outline multimillion-dollar projects, meter upgrades and cost savings

Justin Mets, general manager for Hardin County Water District No. 1, and Sean Yurovich, representing Water District No. 2, briefed the fiscal court on April 14 about completed work and planned projects funded by grants and district revenues.
Mets said District 1’s 2025 consolidated revenue was $21.327 million with expenses just over $18 million. He highlighted several capital projects: a $1.933 million unserved-roads water-line project (43,285 ft) funded by KIA, full deployment of fixed-base AMI meter reading (now 100% complete), and lift-station renovations including a $425,000 in-house renovation and the Marvin’s lift station renovation that used $768,100 in ARPA funds.
