At its April 13 meeting the Shawnee City Council reviewed the city's 'all funds' budget list and scheduled a budget retreat for Saturday, April 25, the city's communications director reported.
Doug Donahue said the budget breakdown presented includes the general fund, special revenue funds, special district funds, public safety equipment, the public safety sales tax fund, the special highway fund, parks and pipes fund, the stormwater utility fund, equipment and facility reserve fund, and the debt service fund. Donahue announced the budget retreat will be held at Fire Station 71 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 25; the council will return to regular session Monday, April 27 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Donahue also reported that Mayor Sandifer declared April 20 through April 28 as the city's 7 Days of Kindness, a ceremonial week intended to promote community goodwill. The meeting summary did not include fiscal totals or further budget votes; staff will present budget details at the retreat and in future agenda materials.
