Lyon County approves grant paperwork to inspect and clean industrial-park water tower

Lyon County Fiscal Court voted Feb. 12 to authorize grant paperwork and an interlocal agreement tied to a regional water-capacity study funded by the Delta Regional Authority.
Amanda Davenport told the court the study inspects county water infrastructure, including an industrial-park water tower that needs a new pump to be drained and cleaned. The county, acting as fiscal agent for part of the project, asked the court to adopt a resolution and authorize the judge executive to sign application documents for up to $26,000 in grant funds. Davenport said about $6,000 would return to the fiscal court and roughly $20,000 would flow to the river authority to complete inspection and cleaning work.
Court members asked procedural questions about vendors and contract brands for related work and then approved the resolution, authorized contract signature, and later approved a separate interlocal cooperation agreement with the Eddieville River Board to allow transfer and accountability for the state funds. The judge executive said no local money would be expended; the funds are state-held ARD money released once a project is presented and approved.
The county will proceed to finalize the interlocal agreement and file required paperwork with the state Department for Local Government before funds are released.
