The Wyoming City Council approved preliminary and final plats for Mayora Meadows on a pair of motions Tuesday, adopting staff and Planning Commission conditions intended to protect wetlands and meet shoreland standards.
Planning staff told the council the proposal divides the property into two lots (9.78 and 4.66 acres) with a combined wetland area of about 4.49 acres and that zoning and shoreland setbacks were addressed in the submitted plans. Staff recommended approval with conditions covering easements, shared driveway access and final setback determinations.
Council members asked technical questions about driveway access and previously paid fees for an earlier application on the parcel; staff said driveway access must be shared because wetlands preclude a second driveway and that previous applicants had paid separate fees when earlier permits lapsed.
Member Schilling moved approval of the preliminary plat (resolution 25881); the motion was seconded and passed with one recorded opposed vote. The council subsequently approved the final plat (resolution 25882) by similar procedure.
The approvals are conditioned on staff verification of final setbacks and easements and continued compliance with shoreline-management requirements. Staff said they will return to the council if any material changes to the plat or conditions are required.
