Board approves routine consent items and establishes student board member seat

The Inglewood Unified School District Board approved a series of consent and action items at its April 9 meeting, including human resources items (9A1–9A6), educational services items (9B1–9B15), business services items (9C1–9C9) with conference item 9C5 pulled for modification, Measure G/GI and facilities items (9D1–9D8), and county administrators item 9E1. The minutes of the March 12, 2025 meeting were approved.
Board President Margaret Turner Evans announced a new board policy establishing a student board member seat. The policy calls for a student board member to begin attending board meetings in July and to be formally introduced at the May meeting; the student will be sworn in at the first August meeting. Members described the student’s introductory speech as moving and said they look forward to the student voice on the board.
Approvals were recorded on the consent calendar without roll‑call vote tallies disclosed in the meeting transcript; board members indicated the items were approved collectively. Item 9C5 (an out‑of‑state administrative professionals conference) was pulled after the board learned the event would be available in‑state and will be modified and returned to the board.
