The Saco City Council voted April 13 to renew a special entertainment permit for a local country club, allowing live entertainment to continue while the establishment’s liquor license remains in force.
Councilor Parks opened the item and told the council that the applicant had paid required fees and that the city clerk had advertised the hearing under Saco city code, chapter 93, section 93‑2; code enforcement, finance, fire and police reviewed the application and reported no concerns. Councilor Parks moved to open the public hearing; after no public testimony was offered the council closed the hearing and voted to approve the renewal.
Roll call recorded Councilors Edwards, Parks, Doyle, Gail, Huitt and Johnston all voting yes; the motion passed 6–0.
Councilors briefly discussed procedural compliance and thanked staff for the review; no additional conditions were imposed by the council during the meeting. The clerk’s file will be updated consistent with the renewal and the permit will run concurrent with the establishment’s liquor license per the city code.
What happens next: Staff will finalize administrative paperwork and update the licensed premises’ permit on the city’s records.
