“...the attached resolution restates our values as a community,” staff said, explaining the directive to engage county emergency services on operational planning. Several members of the public commented; one speaker criticized the measure as exceeding local authority and warned of potential legal exposure, while others praised the resolution as a reasonable local preparedness step.
Council voted to adopt the resolution after a motion and second. Staff said the real work is operational: coordinating with the county on an emergency CONOPS and preserving up-to-date community resource links and notices.
Next steps: staff will continue work with county emergency services on the CONOPS and maintain posted resources for immigrant services and legal assistance.
