Mr. Keith told the commission that a proposed large solar‑panel project recently cleared planning and zoning, which approved a special‑use permit, and that the council approved related items the previous evening.
He said project applicants are completing their application and that staff — including the commission attorney and operations staff — will begin drafting contract language, possibly in mid‑February, and will also coordinate an MMPA contract. "So from that standpoint I think we're in good shape . . . we'll start working on the contract that that we've got Ron and Todd and others looking at," Mr. Keith said.
Separately, staff reported they are reviewing an interconnection agreement for Central Middle School's solar installation and expect to provide comments back to the applicant.
No formal approvals of contracts or interconnection terms were made at the Jan. 21 meeting; the discussion was an operational update on permitting, council approvals, and next steps for contract preparation.
