The presenters said BAPS has engaged in local service programs including health fairs, blood drives and disaster-relief efforts and credited more than "32,000 volunteer hours" invested in the project over several years. They also listed partnerships with local groups and charities and said the temple will serve as a place of worship, education and community connection.
Council members thanked the presenters and accepted invitation materials and traditional sweets provided after the presentation. The council did not take any formal action on the temple at the April 13 meeting; presenters left invitation cards and indicated more public outreach in coming weeks.
The council will next meet April 27; presenters encouraged residents to attend the May 22–24 opening events and community programs listed in the invitation materials.
