Board carries 250 Milton Road variance to May 20 after parking, coverage and survey questions

At the April 29 meeting, Muhammad Gouda (representing Miner Group and the owner of 250 Milton Road) presented an application to add a full second floor to an existing home and to retain existing nonconforming side‑yard setbacks. The application package and plan sheets contained inconsistent figures for building coverage and lot coverage; board members and staff identified a possible building coverage increase to about 25.2% and a change in lot coverage noted in the hearing materials from 39.8% to 40% while the ordinance allowance was stated as 27%.

Board members pressed the applicant for clearer survey data and plans. Members also raised practical parking and safety questions tied to a proposed change from a two‑car garage to a one‑car garage, asking how a second vehicle would be maneuvered on the existing narrow driveway and whether the dwelling’s proposed bedroom count would trigger higher RSIS parking requirements. The board discussed RSIS guidance for multi‑bedroom homes and the importance of showing a parking layout that meets municipal and RSIS standards.

Given the plan discrepancies and the driveway/parking concerns, the board voted to carry the application to the May 20, 2025 meeting and asked the applicant to submit a revised application, a side survey, and any additional materials at least 10 days before the continued hearing date. The applicant agreed to provide the survey and corrected plan sheets.

The continued hearing is scheduled for May 20, 2025, and the board indicated it would consider the revised materials at that time.
