Tom re-elected chair; Carrie chosen as vice chair

The St. Paul Arts and Culture Commission conducted its annual officer elections at its Jan. 7 meeting.
Jordan Layman read the bylaw requirement that the commission elect a chair and a vice chair at the first regular meeting of the calendar year. Commissioners nominated Tom to continue as chair; the commission approved the nomination by voice vote. Tom spoke briefly and accepted the role.
Commissioners then nominated Carrie for vice chair; the nomination also passed by voice vote. No additional contested nominations were made.
The elections were conducted in accordance with the commission’s bylaws, which limit consecutive one‑year terms for a chair. The commission moved on to subcommittee updates following the votes.
