Officials urge residents to check interactive broadband map as BEAD and local projects advance in Woodford County

Woodford County magistrates highlighted a new interactive broadband mapping tool and recent federal- and state-funded projects intended to expand high-speed internet across the county.
Squire Taylor demonstrated broadbandhub.ky.gov, showing how the map marks addresses as “unserved,” “underserved” or “served” based on verified download and upload speeds. He said locations labeled “unserved” have been targeted for Better Internet Round 2 funding and that some underserved addresses may be part of BEAD investments administered through AllPoints Broadband.
Taylor noted the county has active construction in parts of the south end and that the BEAD/Better Internet projects may proceed concurrently; he said AllPoints promises symmetric speeds up to 10 gigabits per second for eligible addresses. Taylor recommended residents enter their address on the map to see award status and whether an address was included in a grant award.
Magistrates cautioned that houses already marked as “served” by incumbent providers using copper could still see future private investment, and county officials said they will provide additional public guidance and outreach to help residents understand timelines and eligibility.
