The RSU 26 School Board authorized the superintendent to extend a contract to Carrie Wyman for the district’s Director of Learning position following executive session. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Board members said they were pleased with the choice; Carrie Wyman expressed appreciation and enthusiasm when the public vote was announced. Because the new appointment will create a vacancy, administrators said they will post the ASA principal position, run the hiring timeline and return to the board to discuss committee membership for the vacancy process.
The board handled the personnel appointment under the normal executive‑session procedures for personnel and then made the public motion to authorize contract extension.
