Chief appraiser Ryan Eason told the Glynn County Board of Assessors that the office is approximately 85% complete with the initial countywide revaluation and that final sales-ratio analyses will be available at the next meeting. He said the board will be asked to approve sending assessment notices at the March 14 meeting.
Eason described the market as more stable than in recent years, with localized pockets of strength or weakness that complicate valuations in particular neighborhoods, but he said overall sales data allowed staff to make good progress. "We're probably about 85% done with the initial reval," he said, and added that tenured staff and experience helped speed the process.
Eason said staff are preparing edits and conducting countywide ratio checks and neighborhood-level reviews. No formal votes were taken on the revaluation during the March 12 meeting; staff indicated the next meeting will contain the final sales ratios and a request for the board's endorsement to send assessment notices.
