Lee County board approves routine minutes, personnel and consent items; meets in executive session on superintendent matters

The Lee County Board of Education voted 5–0 to approve minutes, the August financial report, the personnel consent agenda and the consent agenda; it recessed to an executive session to discuss superintendent appointment/employment and later reconvened.
At its Oct. 20 regular meeting, the Lee County Board of Education approved several routine business items and recessed to an executive session to discuss superintendent appointment and related personnel matters.
The board approved the Sept. 8, 2025 regular meeting minutes and the Sept. 25 call meeting minutes by voice vote, 5–0. It then approved the August 2025 financial report by voice vote, 5–0. After the executive session, the superintendent recommended approval of the personnel consent agenda and the board approved the personnel items by voice vote, 5–0. The board also approved a general consent agenda that included fundraisers, out‑of‑state or overnight trips, facility use requests, policy IBB and charter school items (voice vote, 5–0).
Before adjourning, the board accepted a first review of policy GBH (professional leaves and absences); no action was required. Staff also noted there were no registered public commenters for the meeting. The board recessed for whole‑board training and closed the public meeting.
