Glynn County opens bids for Perry Lane Road bridge design; one proposal received

Nikki Thompson, procurement analyst for the Glynn County Board of Commissioners, opened a public bid-opening for RFP 26-031 and announced that the county received one proposal for engineering design services for the Perry Lane Road bridge replacement and corridor widening.

"This is the bid opening for RFP 26-031, engineering services for Perry Lane Road bridge replacement and corridor widening design only," Thompson said, adding that the event was being streamed and that in-person attendees should sign the attendance sheet.

Thompson said she and the project manager will review all paperwork for accuracy and completion, and cautioned that "the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee" after evaluation. Because the procurement is an RFP, she said proposals were being unsealed while pricing will be opened only after the evaluation process is complete.

Thompson said a bid tabulation sheet will be posted to the county's website and that, once a decision is made, the recommended award will be presented to the Finance Committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners at its next scheduled monthly meeting. The only bidder Thompson named was Moffatt & Nichol of Savannah, Georgia. No award or vote was taken at the bid opening; the announcement functioned to record receipt of proposals and outline the next procedural steps for evaluation and award consideration.
