Rep. Roger Williams says Congress will address DHS funding after ICE airport deployments

Rep. Roger Williams, a Texas Republican who chairs the House Small Business Committee, said lawmakers would move quickly to address Department of Homeland Security funding after recent deployments of ICE agents to airports.

"I think we're going to have a big movement this week when we get back to get get it funded," Williams said, adding that the ICE agents "did make a huge difference by being in the airports." He said the government "should not be holding back pay on anybody that works for the government doing a service that these people are."

The comment came after the program host asked about ICE agents leaving airports and whether funding for DHS would be fully resolved. Williams framed the deployment as an example of agency flexibility and said Congress would discuss payment and staffing when it returns.
