Commissioners adopt proclamations, approve consent agenda and add 911 ASAP contracts to next week’s consent agenda

Procurement and contracts: Rayme Weidel presented two items to implement The Monitoring Association (TMA) Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP to PSAP) for the Southern Alleghenies 9‑1‑1 Cooperative: an implementation contract with Mission Critical Partners for $10,720 and an interface/installation/annual maintenance contract with Tyler Technologies for $20,720; both contracts are fully funded by PEMA grant funds for a May 12, 2026–May 11, 2027 period. The board voted unanimously to add those 9‑1‑1 ASAP items to next week’s consent agenda rather than act on them immediately.
Under Transportation, the board approved a COSTARS purchase of a 2026 Ford F350 4x4 with custom utility box from Stuckey Ford and Russell’s Auto Sales, LLC for $73,780.44; that motion passed unanimously. The board also approved a check run dated May 1, 2026 and voted to adopt other consent items, including an ARPA addendum extending $110,000 to the Nittany Valley Joint Recreation Authority for the Kepler Pool rehabilitation and several human services contract addenda and MOUs.
Administrative notes and election information: Commissioner Amber Concepcion reported 102,101 registered voters in Centre County and highlighted Precinct #40 in Burnside Township; staff announced the deadline to request a mail‑in ballot is May 12, 2026, by 5:00 p.m., and that the May 19 Board of Commissioners meeting has been canceled. Administrator John Franek Jr. reported the board met in executive session on April 30 to discuss personnel matters. The meeting adjourned at 10:56 a.m.
