Town manager reports developer interest in Town Center; TDA vacancy and Crown Castle node moved outside town limits

Staff recommended advertising the vacancy and following the town’s standard application process and 30-day posting to avoid favoritism, though the manager said the council could appoint the candidate sooner if comfortable.
On telecommunications, the manager updated council that Crown Castle — which had explored a location near Windsor Forest — shifted the proposed node farther north and now proposes a site outside Fletcher’s jurisdiction near Highway 25 and Airport Road. The manager said that relocation should resolve resident concerns about a nearby node.
Finally, the manager briefed council on a trial summer concert at the former golf-course property operated by Charlie Ball, which has hosted events and allows use of a stage; staff described the initial rental fee as modest and framed the event as a trial to evaluate future programming.
