The 38th Guam Legislature presented a certificate of recognition to Dr. Ma. Cristina Manaloto on March 31, 2026, honoring 16 years of pediatric care at the American Pediatric Clinic in Oka-Tamuning.
Legislators said the award recognized a sustained commitment to children’s health on the island. “Dr. Manaloto, thank you for your many years of contribution for the health and well-being of our youth here on the island,” Vice Speaker V. Anthony Ada said during the presentation.
The citation, read during the session, notes that Dr. Manaloto joined the clinic in 2005 and officially opened the American Pediatric Clinic at Oka-Tamuning on Aug. 10, 2010. Senator Therese Terlaje said the doctor provided critical care during COVID-19, thanking her “for being there to give them courage and hope.” The certificate presented was recorded as Certificate number 351-38 COR and dated March 31, 2026; the reading identified the Committee on Rules and listed officials associated with the recognition.
Senator Jesse A. Lujan, identified in the citation as the sponsor, spoke briefly and joined other legislators in offering thanks and well wishes as Dr. Manaloto prepares to relocate to Texas. After the formal remarks, attendees and legislators took a photo with Dr. Manaloto; there was light laughter and mention that she would keep her license active.
Dr. Ma. Cristina Manaloto accepted the recognition and addressed the chamber: “I would like to thank our dear senators, especially you know, Dr. Senator Terlaje, Senator Lujan, and Senator Ada for giving me this certificate of recognition. I really did not expect it.” She thanked families who placed their trust in her care and said she hoped the lessons she shared with patients would endure.
The session closed the recognition segment with applause and holiday wishes for Holy Week and Easter.
