The Erie Zoning Hearing Board unanimously approved a special-exception request from Eagles Nest Leadership Corp to formalize school operations on a multi-structure campus in an R2 district. Architect/agent Adam Trot told the board the campus already houses classrooms and daycare programs under contract with the Erie School District, totals about 3.3 acres with 11 structures, and includes new parking and play areas. He said the school has invested in restoring buildings and in-site parking to support the educational program.
Board members asked about screening, parking/unloading, accessibility and lighting; staff confirmed screening of parking and recreation/play areas (per section 305.12B and section 307) would be required and the board recorded that screening as a condition of approval. The board moved, seconded and recorded votes in favor: Mr. Seabold (yes), Mr. Johnson (yes), Miss King (yes), and Miss Gunen (yes). The motion passed and the special exception was approved with the noted conditions.
Miss Francis and staff said they would verify screening and other code compliance at the permit stage. Adam Trot said the program serves elementary-level students and has expanded on a campus of repurposed structures and new in‑block construction.
