Rollins said the California Department of Public Health issued a statewide warning in October 2025, and that the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control had inspected retail locations, seized product inventories and informed retailers these products are unlawful under California Health and Safety Code 111055. She told council she has observed the products still being sold locally in smoke shops and asked staff to follow up and enforce the law.
Resident Charles Lenninbrink described a previous felony hit‑and‑run involving his wife and said he received no meaningful follow‑up from police despite providing statements and identifying the vehicle. He said small unlicensed motorcycles have been racing in his neighborhood at high speeds and that he has repeatedly called the police with no response; he asked for staff follow‑up and contact information.
City staff said they would follow up with the speakers and that the city had their contact information. No formal action was taken during the meeting on either matter.
