The Sturgeon Bay School District board on April 15 approved Emily Borenhagen to serve as the district’s virtual learning coordinator beginning with the 2026–27 school year.
Director Lindsay Ferry recommended Borenhagen, citing her elementary education degree, five years of classroom experience and a master’s program in administration and curriculum. Administration said the candidate presented a 30/60/90-day plan for sustaining and growing virtual learning options and that the hiring team selected her unanimously.
The board moved and seconded the recommendation and approved the hire by voice vote. The administration said the role responds to increased demand for virtual learning options following the pandemic.
