Parks present "Branching Out" tree grant, Kamiski phase two and Eagle Point preservation plans

Parks Division Manager Steve Fasil briefed the Dubuque City Council April 13 on FY2027 priorities that city staff said would expand tree canopy, complete neighborhood park work and protect historic structures at Eagle Point.
Fasil said the city received a USDA Urban & Community Forestry grant (Branching Out) of about $1.5 million that will fund planting an estimated 5,280 trees through 2029 and will include a Teen Resiliency Corps to train local youth in planting and stewardship work.
