Bartlett High phase two reaches substantial completion; district readies move and new meeting location

The Webster School Committee heard an update on Bartlett High School’s renovation and the district’s move plan during the April 14 meeting.
Business manager Mrs. Ktos said phase two of Bartlett High’s renovation was targeted for substantial completion the day after the meeting. “The building is in very good shape and is ready for us to move in,” she said, while noting a few minor audiovisual items and administrative affidavits remain for architects to finalize.
Mrs. Ktos detailed the move logistics: roughly 61 people and associated offices, classrooms and storage will be relocated; the district will prioritize items coming out of modular classrooms first, then move the Bartlett main office, then the district office into modular classrooms, followed by remaining areas. Tours were planned for students and optional unpacking dates were offered for staff. The administration will post a video of section B similar to prior section C videos.
Committee members who toured the renovated section B last week praised the transformation and applauded the project team’s coordination. A committee member asked when future meetings would be held at Bartlett; administrators replied meetings will move to Bartlett’s media center in May.
The business manager also reported practical details including disposition of some older boilers (surplus out-to-bid) and the sequencing of IT and mover tasks starting the weekend before the move.
The committee took no formal vote on the renovation update; it was presented as informational and placed in the meeting record.
