Item 7: The committee approved three early‑education center (EEC) outdoor-classroom projects (Anton, Castillar, McAuliffe) with a combined budget of about $4.2 million to create outdoor learning environments, replace shade sails, add play structures and plantings. Presenters said these projects are intended as specialized instructional spaces and will require full design work by hired architects before construction. The resolution passed with nine affirmative votes; one member recorded an abstention requesting concept drawings and square-footage details.
Item 8: The committee adopted 18 board/district/regional-priority projects (fencing, furniture, two marquees, technology upgrades including six 85‑inch smart TVs for a library, Promethean boards and a camera installation) with total value of about $1.1 million. The package passed with 10 affirmative votes.
