At public comment on April 14, lifelong San Bruno resident Anna Molina Vilobus urged the council to prioritize negotiations that provide livable wages for the police department to prevent continued officer attrition and program reductions.
Molina Vilobus said the city has lost roughly 25% of its officers to retirement and transfers and described the operational and community impacts of losing specialized roles including K9s, school resource officers and the homeless outreach program. "It is unacceptable to lose 25% of our police officers to retirement and transfers ... It is unacceptable to lose our K9 officers because they are irreplaceable for officer safety and community safety," she told council.
She also requested that the council restore the Posie Parade route to include the east side neighborhood that historically hosted the route, arguing the current alignment excluded long‑time east‑side participants.
Council received the comment; no formal action was taken during the meeting.
Provenance: Public comment segment, April 14.
