Sean Marshall, CEO of Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE), provided a brief update to the City Council on April 14 and asked the council to approve a JPA amendment on consent to change PCE's name to "West Light Energy." Marshall described PCE as a community choice aggregator that has delivered customer bill savings, invested locally (about $1.9 million in San Bruno for EV charging and solar) and will roll out a residential solar‑plus‑storage program later in the year. "Our new name will be West Light Energy," Marshall said, explaining the rebrand intends to reduce customer confusion and better reflect the agency’s broader geography.
Council approved the consent calendar, which included the JPA amendment, without separate public comment; the consent vote passed unanimously. Staff noted the city has received community investments and ongoing customer savings from the CCA over its decade of operation.
