The Raleigh County Schools board moved into executive session to consider multiple personnel items and returned to public session to act on several recommendations from the superintendent.
After the executive session the board approved administrative leave for the following employees as submitted by the superintendent: Nikita Williams, Kyla Douglas, substitute aid Teresa Bennett, teachers Richard Meese and Olin Oaks, Mary Strunk, coaches Ricky Chad Williams, Aaron Lambert and Hunter Lambert, and John Phillips Stevens. The board also approved the termination of bus operator James L. Williams.
Board members moved and seconded each recommendation and the actions were taken by voice vote. The superintendent had earlier noted corrections to personnel documents (for example, revised leave dates and corrected legal names) that were included in the recommendations the board approved. The meeting adjourned after the votes.
Because these actions followed executive session discussion of personnel, the board recorded only the formal motions and voice votes on each recommendation in open session.
