He also noted the third annual Rap Carry Invitational track meet begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 at the Rap Carry Athletic Complex, Curve Field.
The superintendent promoted a DCIU Zoom workshop, "Helping Your Child Stay Calm: Strategies for Managing Big Emotions," set for April 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and announced school cultural and extracurricular events including Pinwood High School’s Jazz and Pasta Night on April 23 (6:00 p.m. at Pinwood Middle School; tickets $15) and Penwood High School’s career night on April 30 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
On staffing, Botat reiterated the district’s hiring needs and promoted a district job fair on May 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pinwood Middle School, directing interested candidates to a careers page and an interest form. He also invited families to a free Pinwood Football and East Lansdown Athletic Association clinic for ages 6–14 on May 23 at the Rap Carry Athletic Complex and urged early registration because spots are filling.
Botat closed the message by listing upcoming governance meetings — an education committee meeting (April 15), committee of the whole (April 20), budget advisory committee (April 23) and a school board business meeting (April 27), all starting at 6:30 p.m. — and thanked listeners for sharing the information. "Much success, students. I know you will do your best," he said.
