Nick Novak, Oak Hills’ newly installed golf professional, told the authority his early focus is on standardizing twilight tee times using sunset and civil twilight data to create predictable last-18 and last-9 tee times. Novak said formalizing the schedule and adding twilight 9-hole slots should improve customer clarity and staff operations.
Novak provided a revenue illustration: capturing one golfer in each newly available twilight tee slot could generate roughly $50,000 annually; capturing the equivalent of four golfers per slot could generate about $200,000. "Small operational improvements like that can help reduce confusion, improve the overall golfer experience and allow the staff to focus on customer service," Novak said.
Members asked about handing of cash for late arrivals; Mark Gardner and others requested an offline discussion about past cash-handling practices. Novak also described plans to hire an assistant pro to manage tournaments and outings; the authority noted any staffing additions will be considered in the FY26–27 budget process.
