Board approves student transfer agreements and discusses levy strategy amid staffing shifts

Administrators said the district is running levies to secure funding to offer pay increases aimed at retaining and recruiting teachers. “We’re running levies because ... if we can pass levies we can actually give our teachers a raise that will allow them to live here,” an administrator said during the meeting.
Board members requested continued reporting on application counts and demographic patterns; administrators noted some families apply to multiple districts and urged board members to contact the county superintendent for broader records if desired.
