"Grant's been approved," KD King said, adding that the county completed a survey and has a consultant working on design. He said the bridge is part of a bundled federal-aid package that also includes projects in other counties, and that federal-aid scheduling means the letting is tentatively mid-2027 or early 2028.
King said the county will contribute local match funds from its bridge program and then work through necessary federal-aid steps and state Department of Transportation reviews. The engineer said the county had completed a survey and that consultant work is underway.
Why it matters: the award increases the county’s available bridge funds for the project and advances a long-planned replacement that affects a local roadway north of town near 180th.
What happens next: King said staff will continue design and coordination with the consultant and with state DOT scheduling; he did not give a firm construction start date beyond the tentative letting window.
