Larry Reman explained that the permit would allow removal of approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material from the site over a 10‑year period to reduce average elevation and produce buildable industrial lots. Reman said the CDC reviewed the plan at its prior meeting and recommended approval.
Council members moved, seconded and approved a resolution granting the conditional use permit. The action authorizes the city to issue permits consistent with the approved conditional use permit; any required monitoring, reclamation or bonding conditions would be part of the permit and development review process.
The council recorded the approval as a resolution and directed staff to proceed with permit issuance consistent with code conditions and any additional requirements identified by the planning commission or CDC.
