Summary

CEO John Glenn opened the board’s update by noting the completion of a long CIO recruitment and several personnel changes and vacancies. He told trustees the new CIO will present at a future meeting and that staffing adjustments remain a priority.
Glenn described efforts to centralize procurement under a program manager, expand communications consultant contracts and comply with union comment windows for contract changes. He also reviewed a major document‑remediation effort to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines compliance, noting the organization has remediated nearly 100 internal documents and is working with a consultant on complex files with an April 24 deadline for structure compliance.
On cybersecurity and AI: trustees asked about the board’s exposure if the city network experiences an intrusion. Glenn said the organization depends on the city for networks and cybersecurity operations and that an MOU signed in 2024 provides for coordination: “We are completely relying on the city in those regards,” he said. He also described using the city’s enterprise AI license for staff training and a new learning-management platform; staff will rely on the city’s privacy settings and recommended configurations when provisioning users.
Why it matters: The accessibility work affects how members and the public can access board documents online; the AI and training initiatives speak to staff capability and risk management as the board tests tools to improve service delivery.
Next steps: Glenn and staff said they will return with CIO onboarding items, details on communications contracts and a plan for posting remediated documents to the website.
