Lee County board unanimously approves minutes, financials, personnel and consent agenda; executive session held on personnel

At its Aug. 11 meeting, the Lee County Board of Education approved a set of routine items by unanimous voice votes.
The board approved the July 14, 2025 minutes and the June 2025 financial report, each by a 5–0 recorded voice vote. Later in the agenda, the board approved the FY25 year‑end financial statement after the superintendent’s recommendation, again 5–0.
The personnel consent agenda was presented and approved unanimously. The final consent agenda included fundraisers, out‑of‑state and overnight trips, facility‑use requests, website flyers and a salary guide adjustment. Board members briefly discussed whether to share a flyer for a community group’s adult‑oriented event on the district website; staff said the flyer would be posted on the website only and not sent home with students. After discussion, the board approved the consent agenda 5–0.
The board also voted to adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel matters including the appointment, employment, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action or dismissal of a public officer or employee and to interview applicants for the superintendent position; that motion passed 5–0. The public meeting reconvened and adjourned later the same evening.
